The Small Firms Association has welcomed the announcement of the National Pensions Reserve Fund to provide loans and help restructure troubled SMEs.
Avine McNally, SFA Assistant Director, commented: “Access to funding is vital for small business survival and expansion. Ireland's small business sector is deeply embedded in the Irish economy, this vital sector will drive growth in the wider economy, more so than any other.”
“The funding schemes announced today are very welcome as they have the potential to deliver financing to support expansion and assist those firms that need to restructure for survival. However, it is essential that access to the funds and the terms of the schemes will be reasonable to ensure as many SMEs as possible can access this finance.”
