Small Business Sentiment

The Small Firms Association’s Business Sentiment Survey tracks key trends in the small business sector. It is based on responses provided by SFA member companies (less than 50 employees) across all sectors and in all parts of the country.

In contrast with the buoyant economy, all of our metrics have fallen back over the last six months. Confidence among small businesses is now at its lowest level since the immediate aftermath of the Brexit vote. This reflects rising business costs, difficulties in attracting staff and the increasingly negative tone of the Brexit negotiations.
