NSAI was established under the National Standards Authority of Ireland Act 1996 and reports to the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation. The state agency responsible for standardization, conformity assessment and measurement, NSAI aims to improve the performance of Irish business and protect consumers by developing standards, inspecting measuring instruments used in trade, and providing a comprehensive range of certification services on the application of standards to goods, services and measurements.
